How this works

This is built on the real WotLK achievement "Higher Learning": 8 real, fixed spawn spots in Dalaran, each of which spawns a specific volume of "The Schools of Arcane Magic" when it spawns real, alongside a handful of location-specific decoy books instead. The 8 locations and their exact real/decoy titles come straight from Warcraft Wiki's own dedicated "The Schools of Arcane Magic" page (which lists coordinates for every spot): Dalaran Visitor Center, two separate spots inside the Legerdemain Lounge, Threads of Fate, two separate spots inside the Violet Citadel, Violet Gate, and Violet Hold. Real reward for finishing: the Kirin Tor Familiar pet, taught by Archmage Vargoth after Rhonin mails you the completed volume β€” same as it works in-game.

You don't start knowing where any of these are β€” same as in-game. "Roam Dalaran" is the discovery action: it only has a chance to stumble across a spot that currently has something spawned. Once you've found a location once (real or fake), it's yours to track directly from then on with its own visible timer, exactly like the strategy Fresh to BiS's own transcripts describe: camp a spot once, note when something spawned, and come back roughly 3-4 hours later. A rare "server crash" event (also mentioned directly in the transcripts) can respawn every discovered spot in Dalaran at once.

Two flavor layers on top of all that (not real game data, just texture): a small chance of getting disconnected on any attempt β€” real WoW jank everyone's hit β€” and, if you're still not done by around midnight in-game, a forced "time to sleep" transition into the next day, since nobody actually camps a PUG achievement all night long.

Progress is saved only in your own browser (clearing site data resets your run). Leaderboard entries are verified server-side β€” a finish only counts once you've actually rolled all 8 real books.
