Caps & Requirements
Hit/expertise caps shift a lot at this gear level — the creator notes below (and the full mechanics writeup in the Herald & Argent guide) cover the real per-build requirements.
Best Races
The only Horde option. Arcane Torrent returns mana for Holy and doubles as an AoE silence / interrupt for Retribution and Protection.
Retribution wants the Sword / Mace expertise; Holy and Protection lean on The Human Spirit and Every Man for Himself. Draenei (Gift of the Naaru, party +1% hit) and Dwarf (Stoneform clears bleeds, poisons and disease — a strong Prot cooldown) are both viable.
Notes
Real creator tips from Bitterrage, Scatty (Vista):
- For Icecrown Citadel 25HC tanking scenario, trinket swap will be required between [Glyph of Indomitability] and [Royal Seal of King Llane] or [The Black Heart] even for extra stamina, e.g - Sindragosa and Prince Keleseth. Armor isn't going to save you against magic. Additionally, the Mythic raiders could use [Libram of the Sacred Shield] over [Libram of Defiance].
- An alternative to the current gemming could be one revolving around Stamina. You could replace most of the hit gems, just make sure to sustain ~5% hit rating. This proved as a viable option for paladins in recent tests. Also make sure to keep an eye out for the expertise, so you don't drop below the cap.
