General

18 macros

Paladin General macros support the parts of the class that every specialization shares. This group focuses on fast targeting, clean target swaps and utility without losing your main boss target. They are shortcuts for decisions you already understand; they do not automate a rotation, check resources or decide which raid member deserves a cooldown.

They are most valuable during add waves, interrupt assignments, emergency raid utility and moments when changing target would cost casts or auto-attacks. Build the keybind around the assignment you actually receive in your raid, and keep a normal version of any critical ability available until the macro has been tested on your server.

Keep only the targeting layers you can read instantly. If your raid frames, click-casting addon or nameplates already perform the same job, the shorter normal keybind is often safer.

universal mouseover priority

Priority: 1. Alt casts on yourself. 2. Friendly mouseover. 3. Friendly selected target. 4. Yourself. Replace SPELL with the desired ability.

#showtooltip SPELL
/cast [mod:alt,@player][@mouseover,help,nodead][help,nodead][@player] SPELL
02Optional reference

Cleanse

Cleanses your mouseover, friendly target or yourself without requiring target switching.

#showtooltip Cleanse
/cast [mod:alt,@player][@mouseover,help,nodead][help,nodead][@player] Cleanse
03Optional reference

Hand of Sacrifice

Casts Hand of Sacrifice on a friendly mouseover, assigned focus or selected ally. Be ready to use Divine Shield or another personal defensive when transferring heavy ICC/RS damage.

#showtooltip Hand of Sacrifice
/cast [@mouseover,help,nodead][@focus,help,nodead][] Hand of Sacrifice
04Optional reference

Hand of Protection

Protects a friendly mouseover or focus without changing your current target. Do not cast it on a tank unless the threat loss is intentional.

#showtooltip Hand of Protection
/cast [@mouseover,help,nodead][@focus,help,nodead][] Hand of Protection
05Optional reference

Lets the Paladin remove Hand of Protection immediately and resume physical attacks or tanking. This is particularly useful for Protection and Retribution.

#showtooltip Hand of Protection

#showtooltip Hand of Salvation
/cast [@mouseover,help,nodead][@focus,help,nodead][] Hand of Salvation

#showtooltip Hand of Freedom
/cast [mod:alt,@player][@mouseover,help,nodead][@focus,help,nodead][@player] Hand of Freedom
08Optional reference

Stops your current cast and uses Lay on Hands on your mouseover, focus or yourself.

#showtooltip Lay on Hands
/stopcasting
/cast [@mouseover,help,nodead][@focus,help,nodead][@player] Lay on Hands
09Optional reference

Divine Shield

Stops your current cast and immediately activates Divine Shield. Use a separate cancellation macro:

#showtooltip Divine Shield
/stopcasting
/cast Divine Shield
10Optional reference

Divine Shield

Separate buttons are safer because repeatedly pressing a combined macro can cancel the shield unintentionally.

/cancelaura Divine Shield
11Optional reference

modifier-controlled Divine Shield

Normal press activates Divine Shield. Shift and another press cancels it.

#showtooltip Divine Shield
/cast Divine Shield
/cancelaura [mod:shift] Divine Shield
12Optional reference

Hammer of Justice

Stops your current cast and stuns a hostile focus, falling back to your current target.

#showtooltip Hammer of Justice
/stopcasting
/cast [@focus,harm,nodead,exists][] Hammer of Justice
13Optional reference

Turn Evil focus

Fears an assigned undead or demon focus without changing your main target.

#showtooltip Turn Evil
/stopcasting
/cast [@focus,harm,nodead,exists][] Turn Evil
14Optional reference

Aura Mastery

Immediately activates Aura Mastery with whichever aura is currently active. The player must still choose the correct aura: - Frost Resistance Aura for heavy Frost damage. - Fire Resistance Aura for heavy Fire damage. - Shadow Resistance Aura for Shadow damage. - Concentration Aura when cast protection matters. - Devotion Aura for increased armor. Avoid trying to switch aura and activate Aura Mastery automatically in one press. The aura change can trigger the global cooldown, depending on the client/server implementation.

#showtooltip Aura Mastery
/stopcasting
/cast Aura Mastery
31Optional reference

Judgement start attack

Starts melee auto-attacks and casts Judgement of Wisdom. Replace it with Judgement of Light when that is your raid assignment.

#showtooltip Judgement of Wisdom

/cancelaura Hand of Protection
50Optional reference

cancel Divine Shield

Ends Divine Shield when the dangerous mechanic has passed so full damage can resume.

/cancelaura Divine Shield

Holy

12 macros

Paladin Holy macros support mouseover healing, tank assignments and deliberate mana cooldowns. This group focuses on healing the correct raid-frame unit while keeping the boss or a judgement target selected. They are shortcuts for decisions you already understand; they do not automate a rotation, check resources or decide which raid member deserves a cooldown.

They are most valuable during Infest recovery, tank spikes, Valithria healing, Halion marks and long heroic attempts. Build the keybind around the assignment you actually receive in your raid, and keep a normal version of any critical ability available until the macro has been tested on your server.

Click-casting addons can replace most mouseover lines. Choose either addon bindings or macros consistently so two targeting systems do not compete.

15Optional reference

Holy Light mouseover

Heals your mouseover, friendly target or yourself. /startattack keeps you melee-attacking your hostile target for Seal of Wisdom mana returns whenever positioning allows it.

#showtooltip Holy Light
/startattack
/cast [@mouseover,help,nodead][help,nodead][@player] Holy Light
16Optional reference

Flash of Light mouseover

Provides fast mouseover Flash of Light healing while keeping your auto-attacks active.

#showtooltip Flash of Light
/startattack
/cast [@mouseover,help,nodead][help,nodead][@player] Flash of Light
17Optional reference

Holy Shock mouseover

Heals a friendly mouseover or target, falling back to yourself. This version deliberately prioritizes healing. Keep a separate normal Holy Shock button if you also want to use it offensively.

#showtooltip Holy Shock
/startattack
/cast [@mouseover,help,nodead][help,nodead][@player] Holy Shock
18Optional reference

Beacon of Light

Applies Beacon to a friendly mouseover, assigned tank focus or yourself.

#showtooltip Beacon of Light
/cast [@mouseover,help,nodead][@focus,help,nodead][@player] Beacon of Light
19Optional reference

#showtooltip Sacred Shield
/cast [@mouseover,help,nodead][@focus,help,nodead][@player] Sacred Shield
20Optional reference

Divine Favor with Holy Shock

Activates Divine Favor and uses Holy Shock on your friendly mouseover, target or yourself for a guaranteed critical heal.

#showtooltip Holy Shock
/stopcasting
/cast Divine Favor
/cast [@mouseover,help,nodead][help,nodead][@player] Holy Shock
21Optional reference

Divine Illumination with engineering gloves

Activates Hyperspeed Accelerators and Divine Illumination together. Only combine them if you consistently want haste during your reduced-mana healing window.

#showtooltip Divine Illumination
/use 10
/cast Divine Illumination
22Optional reference

Divine Plea

Activates Divine Plea. Keep cancellation separate:

#showtooltip Divine Plea
/cast Divine Plea
23Optional reference

Divine Plea

This is important for Holy Paladins because Divine Plea reduces healing. A separate cancellation button avoids wasting a global cooldown by immediately cancelling it.

/cancelaura Divine Plea
24Optional reference

Divine Plea with Avenging Wrath

Attempts to offset Divine Plea’s healing penalty with Avenging Wrath. Whether both activate on the same press can depend on global-cooldown behavior. Keep separate buttons if the server requires a second press.

#showtooltip Divine Plea
/cast Divine Plea
/cast Avenging Wrath
25Optional reference

Divine Intervention

Uses Divine Intervention on a friendly mouseover, focus or selected ally for wipe recovery. Never place this near frequently pressed healing buttons.

#showtooltip Divine Intervention
/stopcasting
/cast [@mouseover,help,nodead][@focus,help,nodead][] Divine Intervention
42Optional reference

defensive instant Flash of Light

Uses an Art of War Flash of Light on yourself with Alt, otherwise on a friendly mouseover, target or yourself.

#showtooltip Flash of Light
/cast [mod:alt,@player][@mouseover,help,nodead][help,nodead][@player] Flash of Light

Protection

10 macros

Paladin Protection macros support taunts, tank rescue tools and carefully controlled raid defensives. This group focuses on protecting the raid while keeping threat and boss positioning stable. They are shortcuts for decisions you already understand; they do not automate a rotation, check resources or decide which raid member deserves a cooldown.

They are most valuable during Saurfang tank swaps, Valithria add pickups, Sindragosa burst damage, Lich King adds and Halion tank transitions. Build the keybind around the assignment you actually receive in your raid, and keep a normal version of any critical ability available until the macro has been tested on your server.

Never hide a taunt or raid cooldown inside a rotational button. These macros should stay on deliberate keys with server-tested cancellation behavior.

26Optional reference

Righteous Defense

Casts Righteous Defense on a friendly mouseover. If none exists, it tries the friendly target of your current enemy. Righteous Defense is cast on the friendly player being attacked, rather than directly on the enemies.

#showtooltip Righteous Defense
/cast [@mouseover,help,nodead][@targettarget,help,nodead][] Righteous Defense
27Optional reference

Hand of Reckoning

Taunts a hostile mouseover without making you drop your current boss target.

#showtooltip Hand of Reckoning
/cast [@mouseover,harm,nodead][] Hand of Reckoning
28Optional reference

Avenger’s Shield focus

Interrupts or silences an assigned hostile focus, falling back to your current target.

#showtooltip Avenger's Shield
/stopcasting
/cast [@focus,harm,nodead,exists][] Avenger's Shield
29Optional reference

Hammer of the Righteous

Starts auto-attacking even when Hammer of the Righteous is unavailable.

#showtooltip Hammer of the Righteous
/startattack
/cast Hammer of the Righteous
30Optional reference

Shield of Righteousness

Starts attacking and casts Shield of Righteousness when available.

#showtooltip Shield of Righteousness
/startattack
/cast Shield of Righteousness
32Optional reference

emergency Divine Protection

Stops your current cast and immediately activates Divine Protection.

#showtooltip Divine Protection
/stopcasting
/cast Divine Protection
33Optional reference

Divine Sacrifice with controlled cancellation

Normal press activates Divine Sacrifice. Alt and another press removes the damage-transfer aura. This can preserve the talented Divine Guardian raid-damage reduction while preventing the transferred damage from killing the Paladin. Test the exact behavior on your server before recommending it publicly.

#showtooltip Divine Sacrifice
/cast Divine Sacrifice
/cancelaura [mod:alt] Divine Sacrifice
34Optional reference

Divine Sacrifice immediate cancellation

Attempts to activate Divine Sacrifice and immediately remove its personal damage-transfer portion while retaining Divine Guardian. Mark this version clearly as server-dependent. Some 3.3.5a servers handle the aura cancellation differently.

#showtooltip Divine Sacrifice
/cast Divine Sacrifice
/cancelaura Divine Sacrifice
35Optional reference

target-of-target Salvation

Casts Salvation on your mouseover or the friendly player currently targeted by the boss.

#showtooltip Hand of Salvation
/cast [@mouseover,help,nodead][@targettarget,help,nodead][] Hand of Salvation
36Optional reference

cancel Divine Shield and taunt

Removes Divine Shield and immediately attempts to taunt the selected enemy. This is useful after deliberately bubbling off a dangerous debuff, but the boss must be tauntable.

#showtooltip Hand of Reckoning
/cancelaura Divine Shield
/cast Hand of Reckoning

Retribution

10 macros

Paladin Retribution macros support melee uptime, seal changes and controlled burst. This group focuses on starting attacks immediately and spending short procs without dropping the primary target. They are shortcuts for decisions you already understand; they do not automate a rotation, check resources or decide which raid member deserves a cooldown.

They are most valuable during cleave packs, execute windows, movement-heavy Halion phases and burst assignments. Build the keybind around the assignment you actually receive in your raid, and keep a normal version of any critical ability available until the macro has been tested on your server.

Do not combine every cooldown automatically. Engineering gloves, trinkets and raid cooldown timing often need separate control.

37Optional reference

Crusader Strike

Starts auto-attacking even if Crusader Strike is unavailable.

#showtooltip Crusader Strike
/startattack
/cast Crusader Strike
38Optional reference

Divine Storm

Starts auto-attacking and casts Divine Storm when ready.

#showtooltip Divine Storm
/startattack
/cast Divine Storm
40Optional reference

Hammer of Wrath mouseover

Throws Hammer of Wrath at an executable hostile mouseover, falling back to your current target. Useful for finishing an add without switching away from the boss.

#showtooltip Hammer of Wrath
/cast [@mouseover,harm,nodead][] Hammer of Wrath
41Optional reference

Retribution burst

Activates engineering gloves, the upper trinket and Avenging Wrath. Remove slot 13 when the equipped trinket is passive or needs different timing.

#showtooltip Avenging Wrath
/use 10
/use 13
/cast Avenging Wrath
43Optional reference

instant Exorcism mouseover

Casts Exorcism on a hostile mouseover or current target, especially useful with Art of War.

#showtooltip Exorcism
/cast [@mouseover,harm,nodead][] Exorcism
44Optional reference

Seal of Vengeance

Activates Seal of Vengeance and starts auto-attacking. Horde characters should replace it with:

#showtooltip Seal of Vengeance
/startattack
/cast Seal of Vengeance
45Optional reference
