Rogue General macros support the parts of the class that every specialization shares. This group focuses on fast targeting, clean target swaps and utility without losing your main boss target. They are shortcuts for decisions you already understand; they do not automate a rotation, check resources or decide which raid member deserves a cooldown.
They are most valuable during add waves, interrupt assignments, emergency raid utility and moments when changing target would cost casts or auto-attacks. Build the keybind around the assignment you actually receive in your raid, and keep a normal version of any critical ability available until the macro has been tested on your server.
Keep only the targeting layers you can read instantly. If your raid frames, click-casting addon or nameplates already perform the same job, the shorter normal keybind is often safer.
03
Tricks of the Trade
Casts Tricks on a friendly mouseover, your assigned focus or selected friendly target. Set your normal Tricks partner as focus before the pull.

/cast [@mouseover,help,nodead][@focus,help,nodead][] Tricks of the Trade
04
Focus Kick
Interrupts your hostile focus without changing targets, falling back to your current target.
Rogue Assassination macros support poison setup, stealth preparation and dagger control. This group focuses on entering the pull correctly and maintaining the weapon setup expected by the spec. They are shortcuts for decisions you already understand; they do not automate a rotation, check resources or decide which raid member deserves a cooldown.
They are most valuable during long single-target bosses, controlled pre-pulls and encounters with poison or weapon adjustments. Build the keybind around the assignment you actually receive in your raid, and keep a normal version of any critical ability available until the macro has been tested on your server.
Verify poison ranks and weapon names. An incorrect equipment macro can silently leave the wrong poison or weapon active.

/equipslot [button:1] 17 FIRST OFFHAND; [button:2] 17 SECOND OFFHAND
Combat
3 macros
Rogue Combat macros support start-attack reliability and controlled cleave. This group focuses on gaining immediate melee uptime while preventing unwanted cleave into dangerous targets. They are shortcuts for decisions you already understand; they do not automate a rotation, check resources or decide which raid member deserves a cooldown.
They are most valuable during Gunship packs, Valithria waves, Lich King adds and any fight where secondary targets can be harmful. Build the keybind around the assignment you actually receive in your raid, and keep a normal version of any critical ability available until the macro has been tested on your server.
Cleave cancellation is a safety tool. Keep it separate enough that normal button-spamming does not switch the cooldown off by accident.
Removes Blade Flurry when cleaving would hit an unwanted or dangerous secondary target.
/cancelaura Blade Flurry

Fan of Knives start attack

#showtooltip Fan of Knives

Subtlety
2 macros
Rogue Subtlety macros support stealth control, safe resets and positional re-entry. This group focuses on preventing auto-attacks from instantly breaking a planned stealth action. They are shortcuts for decisions you already understand; they do not automate a rotation, check resources or decide which raid member deserves a cooldown.
They are most valuable during pre-pull setup, threat emergencies and moments where a clean reset matters more than one extra swing. Build the keybind around the assignment you actually receive in your raid, and keep a normal version of any critical ability available until the macro has been tested on your server.
Server behavior around combat drops can vary. Test the sequence outside a raid and never assume a reset succeeded until the UI confirms it.
05
Safe Vanish
Stops auto-attacks before Vanish, reducing the chance that your next swing immediately breaks stealth.

06
Spammable Stealth
